I am trying to source a new or good used tailgate for my 1992 4Runner. I have found a couple sites that list some for 91 with out tire carrier which is what I have. Now arent the 90-95 4runners the same body style and tailgates interchangeable. I need to know what year of tailgates will work on mine for sure before I go ordering stuff. Wondering why they dont list any for 1992 if 1991 ones would work ???. I am trying to source out a tailgate in Canada that wont cost me an arm and a leg. If ya think ya can help me get back to me.

i cant see why it wont fit all the ones ive seen look the same

 

there are 3 different gates between 90-95 .

you could try these guys .. http://www.toyotafiberglass.com ... I know they have a repair panel for the most popular one and there in Canada .

 

I've got a 90 4Runner rear gate on my 94 and my truck doesn't seem to mind in the least.
