tacoma rear end in a 1990 4rnner
OK so here's what I am wondering I have the opertunity to get a 2000 tacoma that was rolled and I am thinking that maybe the drivetrain can be removed and installed into my 4runner making an s.a.s. front and rear cheaper any idea's or know of reason the tacoma drivtrain will not work?
The tacoma is a TRD Edition with only 50,000 miles already got the 3.4 for a swap but if I can use the full drivetrain why not take the truck too right? Gonna get it for the same price as the motor so would it be worth it to use the parts for a S.A.S. rear spring set up.?

It will bolt in and work just fine. The only problem is that the Tacoma axle housings are about 2" wider overall than the 86-95 axle housings. Not really a big deal but there will be a track width difference.

OK so what about useing the front as well till I get a sas kit then will I need wheel spacers to make the front match the rear width?

the question is kinda weird. so you want to what put the rear diff in place of yours? you obviously will be converting to leafs if you do this and the only real difference is that the parking break setup is different. thats all i know about that. As for drivetrain just swap in the motor. use your tranny unless you are going with a dana or similar axle with the pinion flange on the opposite side. in that case use the taco's
Is that what you are asking?
