what are the symptoms of a bad motor or trans mount? been having some strange vibes from my truck lately...

 

Strange vibes, eh? Do you hear voices, too? I do...mostly from my gas tank...saying "feed me, feed me!". It's kinda weird, but I live with it.

So, what makes think it's your motor or trans. mounts? Have you gotten under to get a good look at them?

 

look at them and if they are broken or damaged. or if you can move your motor around easier than it should. i have a 67 fairlane with bad trans mounts and if you step on it off the line the motor angles up, pulls on the throttle cable and the fan hits the upper radatior hose. but thats a 40 year old ford so i doubt anything that extreme could happen on your toyota.

so what kinda vibes are you getting? are they the something is about to break vibes or this isnt quite right but im not sure what? or something like that

 

Where do you guys get your tranny mounts?
From the dealer or aftermarket?

 

the vibrations are intermittent, coming and going as the engine speeds up. i hear the gas tank voices too, btw.
