Switching to 4:88's at home

got an 87' still with IFS and I'm putting in 4:88's this weekend. just got the parts. Yes, I will read the directions. I just want to know if anyone has any advice, or tips/tricks when it comes to setting up the gears. I've removed diffs/third members before, just never replaced gears. any advice or tips would be appreciated. thanks

Ben

Save the heartache and take it to your local differential shop.

That's my tip.

Yup. Setting up gears is not an easy task. The hardest part is getting the gears to mesh properly. Get that wrong and its game over.

Have you read this?

and been here:

Still think your up to it?

Agreed, gears are a pain to do. Best bet is have a shop do and save the headache.

I agree, have someone else do it, or go to davez offroad, he has the best prices I've found on complete thirds.
