Swapping side mirrors???

well i have a 95 2wd toyota and am doing some paint and body work to it. i wanted to change over to the window mounted side mirrors and was wondering how they are mounted on the other trucks? i know mine are screwed in but i can fill the holes and stuff. i think it looks cleaner with the tacoma style mirrors but i havce seen them on the older trucks. like a 91 my uncle has. he doesnt have teh mirrors i have. hopefully you guys can help me.
thanks for any help

Are you talking about the door mounted mirrors? Or the corner mounted mirrors?

I thought the door mounted mirrors were only on trucks with the little
smoker's windows...

Meaning that you couldn't mount the other style mirrors.

I could be wrong I guess..

Toyota never made a wing window truck with corner mount mirror. the wing window frame took up the spot where the mirror mounted, and the frame would block the view of the mirror anyways.

IIRC, the 'base' trucks had the flag type mirrors that bolted to the door about 10-12" from the front of the door and the mirrors that mount in the front corner were an option on the base, but standard on higher level models.

"...little smoker's windows..." politically incorrect? 'Round here, flippin' a butt can result in road rage! Oh, it's for the smoke, not the butts.

Here's how the "spoon" mirrors mount:

I think you might be on to something! It certainly LOOKS like the cool mirrors would fit on the doors with vents, OOPS, I mean smoker's windows!
Vents:
