Surface rust

I did some poking around for my 94 Toyota RV and decided that this new fangled Fluid Film would be my best option and ordered a gallon. I'm an old motor oil mixed with kerosene guy so this fits me.

The appearance of it when applied leaves something to be desired. So I'm in the paint store toady and questioned the clerk about their pigments. He seems to think that the pigment for oil paint will be comparable with the Fluid Film and gave me a bit to try.

He guessed about 6 oz per gallon to make it black. I have about an oz to experiment with.

I have no interest in cleaning it up and using Por or any rust neutrilizer type products.

Any thoughts or ideas on this? Jim
