idk i still think a sfa is the ultimate but for a DD and weekend warrior, this might be the perfect setup?

i shouldnt have said anything, it jus gets tiring when everyone seems to think that sfa is the ONLY way to go, when both have their uses, itjus depends on what youre lookin for.. livig in cali and being in the desert scene and riding my whole life, ive grown up with all ifs trucks and long travel trucks and rails, and no sfa truck could even come close to keepin up with any prerunner or trophy truck out there just as much as they couldnt handle trails or rock crawling like a sfa.. and ifs s a decen setup for light to moderate trails and even the more extreme trails if youre good enough and works very well for a dd and play truck.. anyway, okay, rant and thread jack done..

Super Cool IFS setup from the Supra, longarm front suspension from Blazeland some coilovers and that stout front end and you could have some serious fun hittin' the whoops !!

That can be fixed, When Downey was around you used to be able to buy Porsche inners and cromo shafts, I think I saved the recipe somewhere...

I'd love to do this setup on the GF's rig. I currently drive a SASed 4runner on 37s , I think this setup could handle 37s without breakage as well....

Hmmmmmmm, YOUR idea sounds alot like the one I just posted ...........anyways......ARB locker would fit, not to sure about an e-locker yet. It would take some work, should be easier than a SAS though.

Looks to me like TTB has even worse flex than factory Toyota IFS, and thats with the swaybar still connected on the Toyota!

that's because the trailing arms suck butt. pretty common though to switch them out with the ones on a full size bronco. Go figure had a bronc II and a full size at the same time, it it wern't for an arse of a landlord and code officer I woulda had my baby bronc sitting on the full size suspension with a 9" rear and the 351W High Output motor in it. Woulda made one heck of a mud rig.

pretty cool stuff, one of the biggest drawbacks to an ifs lift is cv angle. but i will still go sfa once im ready. anyone notice the old school grill on the bronc?

Interesting! That set up would increase ring and pinion strength but would do nothing for the CV axle strength since it uses the stock outers. I wonder if it can be installed without the Trailmaster Drop Bracket kit? The "rear view" photo shows a bent rear crossmember or tweaked out drop brackets that need some refinement. You would need to extend the axles another 3" per side for the Blaze Arms but this geometry would definitly reduce the angles of the CVs. I like the concept!

Its wire screen. Lol.
My buddy picked the rig up for free. Neighbor wanted it gone.
We took the torch to the top, made our own leaf pack for the rear, did custom drop bracket in the front, and picked up used BFGs 33x15.50 for $100 from his work.
Overall we've got like $500 into the rig. Welded front (manual hubs)
It does pretty good for a cheap ass ford. Fun to have a rig to beat the hell out of.

Interesting, I saw that the supra axle mentioned on This page a while back, and its cool to see someone trying to make it work.

Don't think I would personally be interested in fabing that setup or using it, but like it said its cool to see some people experimenting

here's the deal...

you will break something. what would you rather break?

something easy and cheap to replace like the oem outer joint or ring and pinion?

i have a WCOR long travel setup that uses the lubro/porsche inner joint mated to special adapter. then a custom axle which then attaches to the oem outer joint.

i also have a marlin dual cases that goes 150:1 at the lowest.

guess what i tend to break most? yup... outer joint. then one lubro joint and i also snapped the ADD inner axle too.

right now for me, i can replace the inner joint the fastest since all it requires is removing the boot and 6 bolts.

but cheapest and easiest to find is the outer joint so i'd rather blow them up first.

and no, i'd rather not break anything but something has to go... i'd rather pick the outer.
