stripped head bolt.... reuse gasket?

stripped head bolt.... reuse gasket?

So im doing a HG on a 22r and when i did the final torque one of the holes in the block decided to let go. my question is after i fix the threads can i reuse the OEM head gasket or do i need to buy another one?

I think you'll be fine since the motor has never run

I recommend replacing ALL of the bolts... they shouldn't be reused anyway because they're torque to yield

Buy another one. Besides, why chance having to tear it down again?

This. Once a gasket compresses and fills in the surface imperfections, it is done. If you release the tension and try to reuse it, it won't be able to properly fill those imperfections. It may seal if you're lucky, but don't take the chance.
