Steering Wheel Shakes

94 toyota 4x4 ext cab.

I cranked the keys along time ago and had it for about a year, I turned them down a little bit last week.

The front end is still alittle higher.

The problem is driveing.....At high speeds the steering wheel shakes bad at about 45-50. I think it needs an alignment or balance.

But I jacked up one side of the truck and got the front right tire off the ground and shock the tire and their was about 1/2 inch of freeplay in the steering. did the same thing to the other side... Same thing 1/2 inch of free play from shakeing the tire. Could this be an issue for makeing the steering wheel to shake at high speeds?

The tire balance is probably the main culprit, but the sloppy steering isn't helping things any. Can you tell what's causing the steering looseness?

I agree with flashkl, probably tire balance. I got steering wheel shake at 45-50mph starting the day I put retreads on my truck.

If you haven't changed your tires, you may have just lost a weight from a rim.
