Question SR5 Gauges Work in 22R (carbureted)?

Hi all, today i found a 1987 SR5 Cluster for my 1987 Toyota Pickup (22R Carbureted) and i was wondering if it will work for a carbureted engine? i know all of you say that the cluster would always work in a 22RE but will it work in a 22R?

Kevin

There's one in my 22r, i know it was swapped in, oil pressure gauge is a little slow but works fine in my truck, besides gas gauge being stuck lol

It's a plug and play swap aside from the fact you need to swap the oil pressure switch you have now to the actual sending unit used in the SR5 trucks.

I have one in my 87 22R and it works fine. I just had to change out the oil pressure sender from the dummy light switch to the actual pressure sensor, and run a wire from the coil to the tach. Everything else 100% plug and play.

Just adding that I have done the swap as well.

I do believe, from reading here on Yotatech, that you will need the instrument cluster from the 22R-E and not the V-6 vehicle (4Runner).
