Sr5 Cluster Accuracy

Hey guys searched and didnt see what I was lookin for. I have a 86 dlx 4runner and read about swapping in the Sr5 cluster with a tach, voltmeter and oil pressure gauge and those r 3 that I really want on my truck (+ that giant speedo looks stupid) but was curious as to the accuracy of the stock Sr5 cluster. I know we are talkin about a stock cluster that is now over 25 years old but have they proven to be at least pretty close or am I better off just getting some aftermarket gauges and hooking them up seperate. Thanks

No experience with the SR5 cluster but the space where the cubby hole below the radio is fits 3 smaller guages real nice and a medium sized tach looks real good on the side of where the oem guages are. Thats how it is on my truck and they werent very hard to install. I got the mechanical guages and personally I trust those before I will any stock guages in anything and If you wanna go for a more custom look thats definatly the way to go.

They're as accurate as the gauges in anything else... and they bolt in. No extra wiring, no extra space taken up in/on the dash. The only uh... "hard part" about the whole deal is swapping the oil sender.

wheeler can u throw up a couple pics of your gauge set up? Ya trike that was wat I was diggin real simple and clean. This cab is so small I cant really see were aftermarkets wouldent be in the way. I am interested to see wheelers set up tho I dident think of stickin them down there under the radio but suppose it could work out. I checked the guy 4crawler reps that make the the pillar pods as well and they do look pretty nice but between the pods and gauge kits I will definatly be out more then scooping up a decent sr5 cluster and still havta mount and run wires.
