Spring seat/lower shock mount question

So I am in the process of a complete steering/suspension over hall on my '90 Pickup 4wd that has been sitting for the past 1.5 years. I was in the process of tearing down the rear end and when I got to removed the old shocks the driver side shock gave me a fight. I had to burn the lower bushing out and then smash the shock out with a hammer. Upon inspecting the lower shock mount/spring seat, the stud that you attach the shock to is pretty rusty and is swelled larger than it should be. The rest of the spring perch looks to be in decent shape. My question is, do you think that this could be repaired if I ground/sanded the rust off or is it not worth it to risk with a suspension part and I should get find a new one?

And before some jumps to a u-bolt flip, I'm trying to get the truck back on the road as quickly as possible and don't have access to a welder to get shock mounts on.

Shocks are primarily a comfort add-on, plenty of people have been driving with blown out shocks for.countless miles for several decades..

If the lower mount fails its not even going to.be a possible projectile of parts just going to swing free.

You won't know how bad it is really untill you get the trash off of it. If you've.already smashes.it.with a hammer a few times to.get that shock off like you said it's probably not going anywhere anytime soon..

PS where are the pictures, your asking questions about stuff that needs to be seen to give an opinion on for.the most part..
