Spool or welded?

What's your opinion?

I know a shop who can weld my diff for $50 and a friend of mine is selling me his spool for $50.

Both ways are cheap, but I can't make up my mind.

If you can get a spool for $50, don't even think of welding

The answer is spool, regardless of the cost.

Has this shop ever welded a TOYOTA diff? My understanding is they are very difficult to weld locked without damaging them, especially the V6 versions.

Is this a trail-only rig? Do you fully understand what spooling the rear is going to do to the driveability of the truck?
