speedometer 90 4runner

My speedometer bounces most of the time back and fourth. And I was being radared on base and its off by 4 mph too.. whats the problem?

As far as your speedo being off, do you have bigger tires than what came stock? As far as the bouncing, I believe you have a cable run speedo, cable might be loose.

I have stock tires. Maybe the security forces roadside radar was off? Ill go look and see if the cable is loose. Ahh Does anyone offroad with a 22RE and have good results? I finally got my "new" 4runner to the base im at now and am used to a 3.0slow. And want to dump money into mods but I figure it might make the 22RE break :-p

lol my 22re i had in my pickup did very well in a mud bog with bald 30'' tires

I tried my dads 4runner he just bought. It had 16 valves and love it. how easy is the swap

My bad total change of subject. I was curious how easy is it to swap the 2.0 for the 2.7 L.

well the 22re is a 2.4L and swaping in a 2.7L is alot of work

my speedo bounces around +/- 5mph or so no biggie

The cable gets old, and makes growling noises, You can get a new one, and the noise will go away.

I am interested in your experisnce with having the differnt engines. Lets us know how you feel after wheeling it for a while.
Maybe in a differnt thread though.
