New to this forum and looking for a solution. Figured I needed to find a group that knows Toyota pickups.
A year or so ago I had a new trans. put in my ‘94 2wd 22RE pickup due to gear issues and also asked that he correct a broken speedometer issue. Long story short, he replaced my W55 trans. with a W59 Tacoma trans. that has an electronic speedo drive. I discovered this after attempting to install a new mechanical speedo cable.
My question is: can the speedo drive be reversed from electronic back to mechanical, and without having to take the trans. apart?
