Sold 2nd gen- what now?
I sold my 2nd gen a few months back and am now back in the market for something new. I was thinking about going back to the 2nd gen simply because I have the best idea of their capabilities off road compared to other used 4x4's out there.
That said I was also looking at similar make Pathfinders, Rodeos and Troopers around the 2-3k price tag that current 2nd gen's are running. Does anyone have any experience with any of these who could give me an objective comparison so I make the best purchase? My objective is to, with whatever I buy, to use it for a wide range of off-roading activities.
Thanks!

oops edited: Budget is 2-3k... that's about what 2nd geners are running for
Yes Honda Passport is the same as a Pathfinder in that year range (90-95), but Pathfinders are much more common and usually just a bit cheaper.

I'm thinking of an early- mid 90's Pathfinder, Trooper, Rodeo, Passport... I'd be glad to go with a 2nd gen T4R again, but I'm open minded. I'm curious if the above are capable off road compared to a 2nd gen. what are the pros and cons... etc.

Yess, i knew they were very similar.
To tell you the truth i know nothing about said vehicles off road capabilities, i would think about reliability first, no ?
Not saying that any of them arent good vehicles, im just a toyota whore

No way in hell would I have another 2nd gen 4Runner.
1st gen runner or 3rd gen truck (89-95) would be my recommendation. More capable offroad than the 2nd gen runner if that's your primary concern.
