Its waterproff (you will need to coat it), and breathes so it doest mold, or make the inside of the rig nasty.
If this is such a problem with vinyl, why doesn't anyone have issues with tonneau covers on pick ups?

I have seen some tonneau covers on pickups get pretty nasty. There is also a different material than standard vinyl used for tonneau covers.

yeah, shiftless, that looks like a pretty nice top and is not a bad deal.

What I would love to come up with is one that uses the rollbar for the middle support and slopes down to the gate, sort of a hum-vee look.

That looks exactly like the Kayline (STC) top I had on my '89. I loved it. A very good price too. I didn't notice if it included shipping.

When you click "buy" it lists the shipping as $32.70, bringing the total price up to $522.06. Thats about $300 more than I want to spend right now, but maybe its worth not getting caught in an afternoon thunderstorm with no top.

In fact the picture 4wheelcustoms used in the page is directly off the STC/Kayline web site!!!

I talked to the guy that owned SunTop yesterday. When he moved about a year ago he threw away two tops that he had laying around . He didn't realize how much demand there was for them right now. I have permission to copy the design. He gave me more leads that have required about 5 phone calls to get to the guy that originally designed it. Maybe tomorrow I can get hold of him.

$522.06 with shipping is $100.00 more than I paid for my Kayline 10 years ago... I am ordering mine today.

I think what I may do is take my STC to a fabric shop to see if they can make a canvas one by copying the exact dimensions....hmmmmm

Well, I got hold of the guy with all of the patterns and design. He said he would sell me the whole thing. What I need to know is if there is enough demand for me to go into this business. Expect someone to start making the SunTops again real soon now. Stay tuned...

what is reasonable, though? Are we talking like $400? That's probably my limit. Kind of optimistic though.

As I've mentioned previously, I'm also very interested in purchasing a soft top. I don't have the time, patience, or skill to whip a nice one together myself. Keep us informed!!! The $400 mark is also pretty close to what I'd be willing to spend for a decent quality top. Maybe post a thread over in the group buy forum so that if you are serious about having these made, or making them, you can get a contact list together, as well as gauge the level of interest to see if it is something that is even worthwhile.
