sliding window and seal
the rear sliding window on my 87 extended cab is leaking. the seals that seal out the water in the window channel is dry rotted. the seal that holds the window in the cab is also showing signs of a 30 year old part. I have seen replacement sliders for the extended cab butall I can find for a replacement seal is for a standard cab. does anyone know what the difference is ? just for the sake of it I called safelite and they cannot get a window seal or a window.

I was told, but never checked this myself, that extended cab rear windows are wider (top to bottom, NOT side to side) than regular cab rear windows. That's the reason for different seals.

Would Permatex flowable silicone help bandaid the immovable seal?

Might have to custom make something for the slider.
My back window leaks a little at the slider and one of the slider windows of my cab is missing but I put a bicycle tube (I think 26"x1.5-1.75") around the opening and now it is sealed rather nicely. That only works if you have a canopy on the back though.
