Thanks. In reality, the engine bay is really a mess. One day I'll break down and actually clean it. One thing that helps is that we pulled all the vacuum lines and capped them off. You can see a couple blue vacuum caps on the intake (blue caps) and a some yellow caps on the intake port area.

how does it run without the vaccum lines? id like to remove mine, to clean things up but i havent traced what does what and which i dont need. i have few options: power brakes, clutch, heater, wipers. no a/c, no power steering, no auto. but i know some engine control stuff runs on vaccum.

Runs fine. All the hoses I took off were emissions hoses, none dealing with what you mentioned. Your only worry would be for emissions testing, which we don't have here.

im off the hook on that for til at least next year. possibly the one after. dont remember. i can always put them back on for the test. hell, it might pass the sniffer without them anyways. we dont have visuals, just sniffer. anybody have a vacuum diagram for the engine room? ill have to try capping all them off and see how it runs this weekend.

If you want I'll snap some photos tomorrow of what we capped off and removed. All in all, most of the vacuums were removed and capped and unhooked the egr. Thats thrown the CEL on, but I know why its on so it doesn't bother me.

We painted all of it then took a razor to it and removed the blue from what you see. Its blue with the metal, valve cover gaskets are white and the throttle linkage bracket it painted white.
