my opinion is that you don't need mirrors, I would just leave the mirrors off...but if you think they are absolutely necessary then you can buy some generic mirrors and mount them to the fender, it will just look nasty IMO.

Like I said I don't think they are neceassy and they aren't required by Colorado State Law so you won't get in any trouble for it.

In Idaho one is required. I too have pondered where to put them, but nothing comes to mind.

Maybe a motorcycle mirror would work. They usually have a mount that will attach to a tube (e.g. handlebar). If you're using tube style doors then this might work very well.

Something like this:

http://www.acerbis.com/p148_bikeacc/160541.html

I don't know if there's a size requirement on the mirror to be legal. I know that the Acerbis mirror works in CA for motorcycles.

There are other manufacturers and other designs.

you could take the stock mirror, fab up a bracket, then bolt it onto the fender under the hood....sort of a z shaped bracket.....then bolt the mirror to that?

Either that or find a cheap lightweight mirror, and glue a strong magnet to it, and attach it to your cowel/fender that way. I know a guy who has been doing that for years, but alas I have no pics of that.

I just saw this on Marlin's site

It looks like they attached the mirror to the upper hinge.

Open your door and look for something like a corrugated rubber hose that runs from the leading edge of the door to the front of the door frame in the area of the brace that keeps the door from swinging open too far. The wires are inside that. They connect inside the door to all the stuff like locks, lights and power windows and behind the quarter panel to the harness. At least they do in my truck. It should be similar in yours.

Get a magnetic antenna, remove antenna, bolt on a cheap mirror. Mount it on roof and go 80's ricer style.
Or you could get teh clip on trailer hauling mirrors that stick out 12 inches. Fender mounted type used on rv toating trucks...
Hey, what do the RV toyotas use?
