should you care that idle goes up using accessories

I read some threads today about removing vacuum lines and how they are there to increase idle when using accessories....

is there any reason why you would have to have these... is it gonna put any extra strain on the engine if I plug em...

your ac wont work properly with out the idle up lines connected and your power steering will whine and cause the pump to wear prematurely.

I don't have an A/C idle up module and I plugged my power steering idle up lines 2 years ago and everyting works fine.

I do adjust my idle up a bit manually for the summer whe using A/C

idle up for a couple of reasons.

1) the addtional load on the motor can stall it at normal idle speed
2) by turning the compressor for the AC faster it works better, by drawing more air through the condensor it works better

the PS idle up is ONLY at the end of the stearing lock when the pressure on the pump increases dramtically and can cause the motor to stall. the idle up on the PS is connected to a pressure switch. it should only idle up once the pressure on the pump increases to a certain point.
