should or shouldn't replace the whole back gate???

my 86 runner has a back gate with a missing window.the window motor works but the tailgate it's pretty rusted out(window was out for awhile sticks, leafs etc..).the top of the tailgate has a hole about the size of a grapefruit . the replacement window is 252.00. installed. the junkyard WHOLE tailgate with window is 250.00+tax. my question.assuming the motor works in the junkyard gate is this a better route than putting in a window and fixing all the rust. degree of difficulty etc...I did a search and was not clear on what to do.thanks in advance for any response(s).

id bolt on a non-rusty one and not have to spend the time fixing all the rust on the old one.

Yeah and if the motor doesnt work then you always have the one in your old gate, then just swap it out.

just hotwire the motor to roll the window down. Swap the key cylinder from your existing gate

and no shouldnt be any big deal.
