Wish you lived closer to the Philadelphia area. Then you could help me mechanically!

I will update this thread and post lots of pictures. I am just waiting on my order from Harbor Freight

just take the time and do a little at a time.....make small lists.........of your big lists......grinding was no problem, masking takes forever...makes good us of old newspaper and pizza boxes too....hahaha.
the metal mesh on the one picture was held in place from behind....that's the great thing with the 88 4runner....could access the inside as well.

Years ago I had a 71 bug that needed a bunch of work. I used duct work, chicken wire, bondo, tiger hair, and spray foam to get the floor boards and the front of the car to pass inspection.

yes but that's JUST the duplicolor on that truck (that's MY baby), the red was the enamel over it......i don't care for the red either.....but since then we got this black 4runner and the red truck got put on the back burner.
my intention is to do it with black enamel over the duplicolor stuff.

I'd cut it off at the seam as your first post looked. The other stuff should not be all that bad. A little mesh, tiger hair, bondo and some duct work and your back to new. Sand a wee bit Duplicolor and paint...All done. Sounds quick and easy to me!!!

Love this thread! I am hoping to get this taken car of soon. Hopefully, some wire mesh, tiger hair, bondo and paint will do the trick.

thanks lumpy.
Boostin.....like i said, little bit at a time. small victories to add up to a complete win. before about 5 months ago i never touched bondo and i had to buy a grinder....so i still consider myself a novice...just an A.D.D./Obsessive-Compulsive novice....that's why i need small lists....can be a humongously daunting task when you are trying to anticipate the end.........little by little, it will get done.
