Are the front shocks for a 88 pickup and 4Runner interchangeable? I though they were but for some reason there is only one or two pro-comp shock coming up for a 4runner on the 4wheelparts/pro-comp website while for the pickup there are 8. Idk if they just didn't update the 4runner section or if in fact they are different.Thanks,

Also, anyone know what would cause the shocks to get damaged by the bump-stops? at first i though it was because the shocks were not long enough but I checked the model number and they are for a truck with 3" lift (Rancho RS5136. 17.3" expanded 11.25 collapsed). You guys think the shocks are shot?

You could be fully bottoming out the shock since you have a bracket lift withouth the bump stop extenders

 

That's very possible. Wouldn't bump extenders limit travel? I should look into shocks that can be mounted upside down, or maybe grid the bumstops a little.

 

yes they will limit the travel but is it worth ruining shocks? You could maximize it by unbolting the bottom bj and compressing the arm till the shock bottoms then make the new stop spacer 1/4-1/2 in longer to stop the compression before you break things.
