they sell an adapter plate at the hardware store that makes the cone filter bolt right up. thats what i did

or just modify a 5M AFM on to the 22R. You get a bigger AFM, and it can easily attach a cone filter.

and the dirt doesn't seem to help mine either...
I had a hard time with the same intake....seems the smaller urethane connector could have been about an inch or two longer. All my connections are right on the edges of the tube
