HA! You bunch of freaks.
Just wanted to post up a few pics of the 89 with the top off. If you look close you can see the Marlin Crawler sticker right behind the drivers door. I must admit that I get a lot of looks with the top off and it's a heck of a lot of fun both on road and off.
Inspiration for those of you that are unsure if you want a 1st gen or not.

You're a bad, bad man Mr.Junkers.
Poor girl doesnt even know shes being flaunted around on the internet for no reason other than the viewer's own sick and twisted minds.

I got lucky. The guy selling it listed it for less than it normally would have sold for since it wouldn't start worth a darn. They replaced the battery, cables, starter, pulled the starter to clean the contacts several times(yes the NEW starter) etc, etc. Turns out the - cable was lose on the grounding bolt at the engine block. He had 5 more folks on the way to look at it that morning after I was due to leave and I knew it wouldn't be there the next day. I gave him 200$ to hold it while the title cleared (his mom in South America was the original owner and she had to sign it over) and came back a week later with the remaining money. It took me about 3 weeks to find out why it was starting so badly, two turns on the bolt and it never missed a beat afterwards.

Well that was a sweet deal, I saw one over here in Washington that was nice inside and decent on the outside (from pics on craigs list) that he wanted a $1000 because it ran rough but by the time I saw the ad and called him it it was already sold :-(
