seat belt rewind...

I was trying to take the slack out of my seat belt. I did searches. I found write ups. Evidently I dont follow instruction well. According to everyone I know and my second grade teacher : P

Actually I found the write up after I had taken the belt apart.

My problem is those semi clear covers on the side that say do not remove...I removed them : )

Does anyone have a picture of what they are suppossed to look like?? The side with the gears not the coiled spring. I am pretty sure it looks the same : )

Did you end up with a long strand of wire or is it still coiled? if it isn't coiled then you will need to recoil it before you put the cover on. if it is loose that should be OK because you end up taking the belt out on the repiar write up & you will just need to crank it more times - does that make sense? read the write up on tightening it up. if your coil is unwound then you will need many more turns. If somebody is more familiar or I am wrong then chime in.

I have the spring part figured out. It is the other side with all the gears that is causing me problems. I read the write up. Unfortunately after the fact. I am just trying to get the gears back in the right place now. They fell out when I popped the side cover off.
