sas wheel spacer question

ok so im done my swap and i need spacers so my tires dont rub my springs right? so everywhere i look it says that my rear '91 axle is 3inches wider than the new '85 axle so i would need 1.5" on each side but i measure it myself and i find that my rear axle is only like 1.5' overall wider than the front. Now i was thinkin maybe just 1' spacers on each side but then im also wondering if that will be enough so that my tires dont rub my springs. Could somebody give some insight on this subject, maybe if youve done it before. thanx

Not sure about the actual dimensions. I would still go with the 1.5" spacers. I know spacers are bad, but I havent heard too much bad on SASed rigs. Its never a bad idea to have your front track wider than the rear.
