I have a 91 two wheel drive 22re 5sp pickup. As I give it gas at about 1/4 throttle it feels like it loses power and sputters a little under a load. I can push the gas peddle down more and it will smothe out. I have tried cleaning the throttle body but it is still doing the same thing. The previous owner had new plugs,wires,cap and rotor installed just before I bought it around 4k miles ago. I would appreciate any help any one can give me.

When specifically does it do it? Cold/Warm? Truck has been running for awhile? all the time?

 

Sorry. It runs real good when it is cold. It is after it warms up that it does this. Also the idle seems way too high when it is cold. Any ideas?

 

Sounds like someone adjusted the timing without the jumper to me...
