They are made by bfg for military use, i got them from a surplus seller.

The main reason you dont see many people run them is because the require a 16.5 wheel.

16.5 wheels normally dont have a safety bead so you cant air them down without having beadlocks.

 

nice truck...yea I had a procomp 4" on my 85 and i am swapping it out for a 4" trail gear and the truck is 2 inches taller and im going from 33" to 35" tires so it should be interesting to say the least... and mine came with a 1" body lift and i didnt want to mess with taking it off.

 

The ones you have are actually the Goodyear Wrangler MT's (at least in these pictures.

If you are pure rocks and not worried about tire life you should find a place to sipe the lugs. this will help them hook up on rocks a lot better but will degrade tire life considerably.

 

The main reason i bought them was because they are cheap and they last forever. (i drive 300 miles from home to school one way pretty regularly.)

 

Then don't sipe them lol...

They do last a long time. There is a guy close to me that sells them for 350 a set and he makes recenter double beadlock wheels to fit our trucks. where did you get your wheels from and what did you spend on them?

 

Its probably the same place. Trailworhty fab I dont remember what i paid for them, i got pressed centers installed, a rock ring installed, and the pvc insert instead of the runflat to save on weight.

Awesome looking runner! I know it's been a while since anyone's posted on this, but I got a lot of the same setup and was wondering where you got your front driveshaft made or how you made it. Also, how did the dual cases do being that it is/was a DD?

 

Thanks man, i started with a tg longspline shaft kit, then had a buddy chuck it up in a lathe and get it straight. then laid down a nice tig weld... its not 100% perfect, but it is great under highway speeds.

Havent had any problems out of the duals... busted several transmissions but no cases yet.

 

Another little update... I installed some tg trunion emiminators as well as one piece knuckle ball seals up front... resealed the front end, threw on some new callipers and pads up front and replaced the starter yesterday.

Ill be putting a water pump in tomorrow before i make a 270 mile trip back to school...
