Replace CV or no?

hey i have a small problem (i hope small) i have a 93 PU 3.0 5 speed with manual locking hubs when i lock them and put it in 4WD and turn the wheels a little more than half way i hear a ratcheting noise coming from the front its sounds to me like the CV axles are binding my buddy said it was because of my body lift (he has no idea what he is talking about haha) but other than the body lift and the 33s i did nothing to the suspension and it did this before i did the 33s it was stock height and stock wheel size and it still did it should i replace the CVs with that solve it? any ideas should i not use 4wd until i solve this? any info would be great thanks!!

Just crawl under your truck, look at the cvs. If they are cracked/leaking grease then time for new ones. You can either rebuild them or get complete new ones.

hey man you need to replace them, my cv's do that same thing. It wont hurt to wheel like that but i wouldnt do anything to serious. all it is are the bearings in the inner cv part going bad. I think. Does it not do it when you turn all the way in one direction when the hubs arnt locked? IF not i have no dang clue.

The same thing is happening to mine. i was told you can just repack it with grease. I've got a grease gun and a needle or pulling the rubber boot back; I was told I can just pump more in. Is there a problem with doing this? Seems a lot easier that removing the axle to repack it.
