Removal of Lock for Rear Window Switch

I am in the process of relocating the rear window switch on my 2nd Gen 4Runner from the original location between the front seats to a new location on the dash. My question is can I remove the lock that's associated with this switch? This is the lock that when enables prevents the window from being rolled up/down when pressing on the rear window swtich.

I was able to bypass this switch by temporarily jumpering a couple of wires and the window works well. But before I completely remove this switch, I want to be sure its safe to do so as there are a couple of diodes included as part of this window lock button. Anyone know what the purpose of these diodes are for?

I've been searching but haven't come up with anything other than schematics which don't really explain the purpose of these diodes.

Thanks for the help.

OK. I think I just stumbled on something... can these diodes be associated with the illumination of the button itself? Therefore, no impact should I remove the switch? Would this assumption be correct?

Did you find this in your search?

" The rear key switch is not interlocked"

You could just rewire the front switch into the rear key switch and bypass all the interlocks if you so desired...
