rear wiper not seated - rear window issue

Just got an 86 4runner and was told the rear wiper did not work. The rear window key and switch worked. The other day somehow the rear window wiper came unseated and now the window will not roll down. I have checked kick panel switches and they are all good. I have supplied power directly to the wiper motor and can get it to cycle but it will not go home and seat in the black holder. I assume the wiper blade must be fully seated for the window to go down. Any suggestions on how to get that wiper home or how to bypass the sensor so at least I can get the window to function?

During trouble shooting when i turned the key to roll down the window I would hear a relay click towards the front. I no longer hear that. I feel like I'm going backward.

You probably tripped the circuit breaker at fuse block behind driver side kick panel.

Turn power off,
poke the little hole with wooden toothpick until you feel/hear a click.
Check pin 6 of window control relay for 12V.

Disconnect the connector to the rear wiper assembly. That will completely isolate the wiper park/retract sensor, so even if the wiper is not parked, the window control relay wiper park input (pin13) does not see ground.
Let us know what happens.

This is awesome. Thanks for the feedback. I have power on pin 6. Pin 8 has power with ignition. Not sure where to go now. Pull this relay apart and test it?

I get no power on pin 4 or 5 with key on and hitting the up or down window console switch. That is w my tester ground on 10.

maybe I’m not testing right?

i was able to get the window to operate wiring it straight to the battery.

jupering 6 to 1 and 3 also operates the window. So continuity is good from the harness to the window

Did you do the easiest thing to try that I suggested above?
Disconnect the connector to the rear wiper assembly. That will completely isolate the wiper park/retract sensor, so even if the wiper is not parked, the window control relay wiper park input (pin13) does not see ground.

4 or 5 do not get power. When you ground either, window should move.

Yes, means your motor is good.
