rear window question

hello all,

The rear window in my 88' 4runner works great...almost from the switch inside it goes up and down with no problem... till it's all the way up. then it wont go down. I can get out and use the key to drop it from the switch in the tail gate. It seems that if i leave it down say 1/2 an inch it works fine, but if i seat it.... no go. My first thought was limit switch, messed with it and nothing changed. Heard rumor there is a second limit switch in the motor itself, can anyone confirm this and does it sound as if that may be the issue? Thanks!!

Have you checked to see if the teeth are all stripped? I had to replace the whole regulator, $100 off ebay.
