Rear Coil Spring Removal/Install 94 SR5

Hey everyone...

I am planning on replacing all 4 shocks and the two coil springs in the rear this week, i was wondering how do you remove the 2 coil springs and install the new ones ?

Thanks.

Disconnect all links from there axle housing mounts and it drops right out (sometimes you can get away with just loosening all 8 bolts that go thru the bushings). Be careful of the brake line in the middle. You may need to disconnect it as well.

My bump stops have fallen off and they are sitting inside the springs on top of the axle... are they $$$ or hard to put back on ?

There is just a bolt up the center. Unless they tore.

update with pics

Well today was the day to fix the rear sag, and a set of stock replacement Moog springs and rear shocks did the trick. Thanks for the help... very nice lift indeed from OEM parts.

Alighnment may be off now because it's sitting higher, so i was told.

Before the new springs and shocks

After install, almost even with the front.

I just did mine today and this info made the job so much easier! I got some heavy duty cargo springs from a buddy that works at a parts warehouse for $95. The new springs are made with a much thicker metal rod, so im hoping it prevents sag in the future. The end result is amazing though, it raised my rear almost even with the front like yours skinnadoor. Thanks for the info james.
