With doing a 3.4 swap and having to use the 3.4's charcoal canister on the driver side, I was able to get rid of the 3.0's cylindrical charcoal canister from the passenger side fender, freeing up a lot of space.

Now the vent line from the gas take that feeds into the charcoal canister is still in the same place: awkwardly in the middle of the passenger fender sitting in the way of mounting something else, like say an ARB compressor.

So, my question to all of you is, has anyone been able to re-route that hard line closer to the firewall?

Can the small hand-held tubing bender used for brake lines be used to bend these lines? Something like: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/oes-25125/overview/

And, if I decide to cut the hard line down on the firewall, is there a tool that will add that "barb" to the end of the line? All I can think of is a flare tool, but I know this isn't a flared end.

if it is in your way just move it cut it to what works best.

i bet if you posted this in 3.4 swaps you would get all kinds of ideas.

you really don`t need the bell to keep the correct size new vacuum hose on.

 

I remove the mount on the fender and bend the line back and run it along the firewall reusing the mount bracket to bolt up at the old 3.0 evap mount holes.

 

Yeah, I was back and forth for little while whether to post here or the 3.4 swap forum, but settled on here.

Good to know about not needing that little bulb or bell on the end of the hard line.

Vital, the plan was/is to bend the hard line back along the fire wall (hadn't thought about how to mount it yet, so thanks for that idea), but I'm not sure what the best method of bending the tube is: by hand and risk kinking it, or using one of the brake line tubing benders.

With old lines like this it might kink or break even with a bender.

They just get brittle with age at least here on the East Coast might not be a issue out there.
