I have been having problems with my transmission popping out of first gear, and hard to get into any gear lately. A few days ago, it got to the point where I could hardly even drive the truck, so I dropped it out and took it to a shop to see what is wrong. They said that the cluster gear bearings are worn out and have alot of play. They said that it is $325 for the parts, and $900 after labor. $1300 to overhaul the entire unit. These prices seem very steep IMO. Has anybody else done this? How much should it cost?

 

sounds about right. Check with marlin. hes the trans guru

 

X2 On the marlincrawler.com fix even shipped you could come out ahead on price and know its been done right.

 

and a 3rd for Marlin & Angelo- I got their rebuild kit for my R151F & my trans guy noted how they were all top-quality parts.

 

it says there arent selling rebuild kits right now
