Protecting My Trany.... dumb question...

So im pulling into my driveway the other day in my 94 SR5 Auto... and i put my foot on the brake, stop and shift up to park.... when i let my foot off the brake, my 4Runner moves a bit and i hear a faint, "Click" then she's in park.

So my question is ... "Should i just shut my truck off after i shift into park, With my foot on the brake, or release the brake, truck moves a bit then shut it off... it sounds dumb but i get different noises both ways...

Are there any special do's and don't for this tranny?? my wife drives the 4 runner too and i'm paranoid she's not pushing the brake in hard enough when engaging park....

What safety locks are in place for the 94 4Runner when it comes to comming in and out of gear, going into to park particuallary...

Thanks for the help and i'm sure you guys' know what i'm talking about....

I have heard brand new trannys make that "click" when they kinda "roll" into park.

Why not just use your parking brake to take all the stress off the tranny?

when you come to a stop, keep your foot on the brake, set ebrake, put it into park. you can now remove your foot and then shut it down .
