Princess Auto Buyers Class 3 Hitch

I just bought a class 3 hitch for my 89 extended cab 4x4. 6' bed.
The brand is Buyers Products Company from Princess Auto. On the box it came in, it says it will fit an 87-94 toyota pickup with 8' bed only??? I didnt know you could get a toyota with an 8' box.

Has anyone installed one of these hitches?

I only plan to pull 2-3000 lbs max with this truck. So it could be because the towing capacity of the truck is less than the capacity of the hitch, comments? I think it would still work.

Most likely a misprint!!

They do seem to make a good product.

I am sure it will work just fine for your use.

At the end of each side of my rear frame, there are 2 - approx 3/4" holes spaced about 4" apart. I would have assumed these were to attach a hitch to. The class 2 and class 3 hitches I looked at come with 1/2 bolts, and thus will not hold the hitch without falling through. The instructions suggest you might have to drill holes... Im not into that, my frame will end up looking like swiss cheese.

Do others use these holes to mount a hitch? or is it common to drill new holes in the frame?

Does you truck Have a Bumper??

Most times the hitches use the same holes as the bumper brackets.

Made to fit most times on the inside of the frame.

What holes line up with your hitch most have two from the side and one down from the top.

I am to tired to crawl under and look.

Thanks, Yes... I had a look at a hitch U Haul sells for the 89 4x4. It does use the bumper bracket holes. I guess I will buy one from them.

My hitch is bolted to the frame using a couple of heavy washers and 1/2" ready rod (so no extra holes), and also bolted to the bumper.
