power window on passenger side dont work

hey there. my power window on the pass side dont work. i had an extra switch so i swapped in and the window still didnt work. so i took apart the door and pulled the wire that goes to the window motor and put 12v to the motor. it didnt work so i switched the pos and neg wires from a battery. after a min trying the window went down and up. so i put the switch back on and nothing worked. so i took off the switch again and put 12v again to the motor and nothing worked. so im thinking maybe the ground is rusty if it even has a ground. any help is greatly appreciated

If you bypass the system entirely, and it still doesn't function, the motor is at fault.

The two wires are for positive, and negative. Since switching polarity does nothing for you, then I would say the motor is shot.

Make sure all the connections are corrosion free, they like to get nasty in those doors..

IF it still is no good, go get a window motor from a 4runner $10 if not less..

Jesus! You could get one shipped from the mainland for less then half that.

If you seriously can't find one around there for a good price, pm me and I might be able to ship one to you.

I believe that many Toyota window motors are the same....like a Camry. Check the part numbers first.

Hint: if you can, grab a rear passenger side one from a sedan - it will have the least amount of use

Mine stopped working years ago in my 4runner and I just replaced with a manual one....wish I'd known then what I know now :/

Haha, yeah most of the motors are interchangeable.

Its funny, you can sell a front window motor as a rear window motor and make 2x the $$
