Thank you, first of all.

I have a 94 4Runner V6 4X4 with 117K miles oringinal stock engine.

Around the PS area, there has been fluid leaking for awhile now.

Tomorrow, I will clean around the area with engine cleaner so I can find the source of the leak. I have read in the threads that I may need to rebuild my PS.

However, my PS is functioning properly. I have no problems other than fluid leaking under the engine. I am pretty sure it is the PS because of the color.

Once the engine in clean, is there anything I should pay particular attention to? I read to turn the steering wheel left an right till it stops and maybe I will see the leak.

It's hard to say without looking at it from my end, but I will say I once had a leak and it turned out to be a bolt was loose on the front of the pump. This was a 22re.

So, you might check for that and hoses.

Once you get the area clean, it will hopefully be obvious. But, if not, some powdered foot spray or talcum around the pump and such would help.

So just blow powered onto the pump so it will reveal the leak?

I was told of a glow in the dark substance that can mix with the fluid. With the assistance of black light, I was told it can help locate the leak.

Anyone know where on the Power steering a leak may come out? Again, I was told it is typical to rebuild the seals even at 117k miles..

I have the same issue. I don't know if it's better to replace the pump or reseal it. I used stop leak and it lasted a couple of years before it started leaking again. This time I need to do something more. Post up how yours turned out.

Okay, so I blew talcum powder onto the powersteering pump after I had degreased the engine.

I ran the engine a few minutes and noticed a small fluid leak at the base of the PS pump. I tightened the two bolts at the back. After running the truck for another 5 minutes, no leak. Hopefully this has resolved it...I will keep you posted.

my steering gear-box has been leaking for over a year now... I have yet to fix it... the PS still works, and I just add about 1/16 a quart every time I'm under the hood

Yeah, the beauty of PS is it'll continue to work (and vent fluid) so long as you keep adding it.

Mine has also been leaking for a while. While doing my idler bracket today, noticed an extreme amount of fluid leakage. Upon further inspection, when I turn the steering wheel, the pressure line swells up and fluid seaps out. Did you notice the hydraulic unit underneath the p/s pump. I just found out that is the abs actuator for rear. My buddy thought it was some sort of hydraulically controlled idler arm.
