Power steering help
Are the power steering brackets different on the early trucks compared to the one's in the 1986's and newer? My '86 had an early block in it that the PO installed and now that i've replaced that one with the correct block i have had issues with some stuff not fitting on the new motor. Since the holes arent lining up well i'm thinking this may be another one of the things i can't transfer and will need to replace. Thanks for the help in adavance.

Just enough that some holes no longer match up.
One needs to match the brackets with the engine year this has lead to some new curse words being invented on my part.
The best or worst is the water pumps are different not enough to notice unless you have them side be side different size impellers.
Got it all together coolant installed went to start it screamed because the impeller could not turn pulled against the timing cover by the bolts.
Very interesting !! Day.

Thanks for the response. This is my first time replacing a motor and it's not been as easy as i anticipated. Was starting to beat myself up thinking "how can i be doing this wrong"? Guess its off to craiglist and/or the junk yards for me.
