I need to learn how to read. I thought it was funny that there were more than two mountains, i.e. more than two peaks in Nicks pictures...however I now realize that it's not called Twin Peaks, it's called Twin Lakes. Twin Peaks is a restaurant chain. You can tell where my mind was when I was looking at the pics. Don't surf the web on an empty stomach.

PO was not so nice to it. it had a leaking power steering pressure hose and the alternator or something arced, caught it on fire. They got it out pretty quick, it messed up the wiring to the alternator and burned up the power steering pressure hose and that's all it got.
I got it for a screaming deal (650 bucks ) I have just been fixing everything. So far I have fixed the wiring, Replaced the alternator and power steering pressure hose. replaced the battery. the idle arm and lower right ball joint. Got new tires. So as of now it's running good and only needs a few small things done ( exhaust ).
after everything mechanically is done ( very soon ) I am going to figure out what I am going to do to it
. I have till Sept 1st to get the exhaust leak fixed, Hunting season starts the 1st. I am going to be using this as my off road / hunting truck so I don't have to beat up my new truck and hear my wife complain

6 lug to 6 lug, and yes, they move the tire out about an inch.
original tires are 265/65 r16
the guy I bought my 4R from put on 265/70 r16 Bridgestone ATs, they rub against the frame when I do a donut (100% turn)
possible solutions:
a) suspension lift
b) body lift
c) wheel spacers
d) offset tires
a is way expensive (just for parts, not including labor)
b is 180 for parts (from 4wheel parts, $630 installed)
c is 200 for parts (self install)
d didn't check but 4 new tires was more than I wanted to spend
so c it was.

Body lift wont do anything for tire rub against the frame. ( It doesnt change anything except body to tire clearance but g-ys everything else.)
And theres no such thing as an offset tire, offset rims,,, (rims are what you need). And why are we talking labor costs here? Your not trapped under a rock are you? Your probably a capable American who could easily install a lift kit. After all Les Schwab does it all the time and their about the most ridiculous outfit out there.

Just got this 98 4runner a couple months ago. I have put a leveling kit, wheels, tint and exhaust on it so far. More to come

For my first, inaugural, post i give you my 89 runner, Did the paint myself (rattle can rustolium
), the bumpers, while not quite as pretty now due to a surprise meeting with a lamp post
, are from TAG.Specs: 3.0 V6 with 280k miles, stock tranny shocks struts ect ect. (well, stock for now
)
