I was tired of carrying wheel chocks. The stock E brake was sticky and would be a bear to release.

It was 105 Degrees every day of the trip..... and the rings have finally seated, which I can tell due to it running a bit cooler now, even in that heat. The 261 CAM from engnbldr worked flawlessly, and I figured....why not break it in on a 600Mile trip to the Sierra's.....eh? lol. It has WAY more power on the hills, which I noticed on the Glacier Mtn. Pass doing 65-70mph, whereas I'd usually be doing 50mph....IF I WAS LUCKY, lol. Especially FULLY loaded with tons of gear..... so needless to say, I'M VERY happy, thus far, with the 261 and THANK GOD..... I had Andy to help me swap them out without removing the head..... NO HG leaks and NO problems whatsoever, related to that method. I know, it can be dangerous... but we checked her out really well before taking the trip to break in the cam.

PS> The Zuk coils (12"x125#'ers) worked REALLY well, as I had several hundred pounds of Gear loaded in my rig in most of those pics.... Normally, I'd be TOTALLY bottomed out, and while I couldn't do much crazy wheeling(both lower ball joints are toast), I did notice REALLY great gains on flex when I need them...... Thanks ZUK!

Hey Thralldad,

From what I could tell, yes.... Went from around 14 to 20mpg..... However, this trip was highway, and my mileage problems, I'm fairly certain, were not only due to that destroyed cam. So, we'll see as I dig a lil deeper. I'm pretty sure my dizzy is causing the remainder of what is now a TEEEEEEEENY miss and possibly mileage issues caused by being rough to time, ya know?

Probably the last pic you'll see of how it looks right now, hope to have it painted next week.

Me neither. Sorry Crimson Yota, but I think it would look better without the visor.

Where in Central Tx are you Thralldad?

Still glad your truck is running better Chef. I bet it was satisfying to make that trip so easy.

thats going to look real nice with those new tires only thing i would say is get an original 4runner grill looks like you have a pickup grill on there rightnow. i dont know if you know the difference or not lol but the 4runner one has black light bezels and the grill sticks out a bit farther and really looks way better then the pickup one imo lol might be something to look into haha. actually i just took a second look and it looks like the right grill just the bezels arent painted hah
