Possible injector vacuum leak? 3VZ
Hello all.
In process of rebuilding a 3.0, and while cleaning the intake manifold, I notice that the injector spacers (as FSM labels) have a small oring around them. But not a lot of tension to insert them (after cleaning).
Has anyone ever replaced those on a rebuild? It seems that there is a potential vacuum leak around the "outside" of the spacer (inside will be sealed with lower o-ring around injc). I wonder if it would be good thing to put a bit of FIPG (just a bit) around the top of the spacer?
Meant to post pic, but left camera at storage unit.

There are 3 seals on each injector; ALL need to be replaced as part of your rebuild. Check the bakelite cups condition, also. I replaced ALL of that when I rebuilt mine.
Put a little fuel on the seals before you seat them. It will swell them slightly.

if you are talking about those large plastic insets, there are o-rings that go on them. i could not get our's out without damaging them. enjoy that. i think i remember them being about $7 each. but once again, it's one of those parts I didn't want to neglect doing right, so I bucked up.
