I like the Big country but for that kind of money I would weld one up myself. The Sonoran is a very simple design.

Looks are one thing, but what are you basing build quality on. I have never heard of one of Steve's bumpers failing.

Just a quick update.......Taran finished my bumper and after alot BS from the shipping companies he got it shipped. I really appreciate the extra effort he made to get it shipped. He even had a crate built that he didn't use.(maybe you can use it for a Halloween casket) Anyway the Bumper is in Dallas awaiting Customs inspection. They said I should receive it tomorrow. I'll post up as soon as I get it installed. Thanks again Taran for going above and beyond to get this bumper to me. Pictures to follow in the next week or so............

Phil,

Cool on the bumper. Definitely post some pics when you get a chance. I contacted Taran about a bumper a few mos. ago and plan on gettting one in the future.

It'd be good to see it in person as I'm in Dallas as well.

Thanks!

Mike

I don't have those bumper but....
Speaking from experience with towing, you might want to make sure that the raise/lower crank still clear. By the time you got that 35's spare on, it might be in the way of the crank. You'll end up having to lift it on to the ball by hand. Not fun. Also, if you have a bike rack that attach to the hitch point is long enough to clear the spare tire too. Mine doesn't.... I have to make it longer somehow or drill another hole further out for the pin.

There is a reason why the bottom is not cut in. But in the end it really does not matter. Pick what you want.

You put sliders on your truck, why would you buy a rear bumper that does not continue the slider line ?

Well the bumper is finally in my hands. The Customs went smooth. No charge for under$2k in auto parts due to NAFTA. Shipping with UPS freight was not the best expereince. They did make it right in the end but it took almost 2 weeks to get released. I'll post up some pics when it is mounted.

looks good! I can't really tell from the pics, did you have to cut your flares to get it on?

I did cut them. Took all but a minute to whack them off and used the rubber bead that was on them to give a clean finished look. I'll try to get some closeup shots of the flare so you can see what I mean.

I can see it now that I'm at home, my monitor at work sucks!
I'd still like to see closeups when you get a chance, I'm about this close to pulling the trigger on one of these

I took these last night. I hope they are clear enough for you.

Also, what brand were your tail light gaurds? Did you have to take them off for the bumper to work? Is the spare tire carrier stable enough?
