I've got one wraped up on mine. Looks like it's been that way forever. After rebuilding mine only thing I could come up with was knock sensor wiring. Shows in the schematic but sure aint one on my 91.

the only other thing I can think of is one of the water temp senders on the front of the lower intake manifold, but it doesn't look like it would reach that far plus it's the wrong color

also, notice how the injector plug in the background is a little different...

I just googled a little, and found an intesting pic...

is the plug on the left the same thing you're seeing?

I'm 95% sure the cold start injector, but the plug on mine is black, not gray

lol, yeah they almost look idential, but the regular injector plug's color matches the one you are picturing

you didn't somehow plug the cold-start injector plug into a regular injector, did you? I think the plugs a just different enough to keep this from happening though...

SO, I checked the EGR and It dosent have an electrical connection on it. No wire no plug nothing. It seems it all runs on vacume. I just got done with the notorious HG replacement and I am missing some power. A few things that concerned me was the mystery wire, three stripped intake bolts and two injectors with the pintle cap broken. But thats off the subject, Why wouldnt my EGR have a electrical connection did toyota make a VGR or is that wire just ducking me.

well not all models came with the temp sensor on the EGR, but I believe that all still have the plug-in for it, it's just not used

I didnt plug the wrong wire into an injector. I made sure to lable them. However I did try and your right it wont plug into the injector. Im glad its idiot proof for the most part. I start looking at a bunch of wires and I get a fever

So you think it should still have a plug for the wire

I just might be somethng that was wired in for an accessory that you don't have.

Is your Check Engine Light on?

Just looked over some diagrams and the EGR temp wires are green/white stripe and brown/black stripe. If faded, I wonder if brown/black would look orange/blue?
I'll verify on the 91 shortly.
