I have an 87 Toyota pickup with a 22r its overheating put new thermostat heater core radiator and water pum and its still overheating!!! Help

 

Whoa! Slow down!

You need to give us a little more information.

Did this just start to happen?

Under what conditions is the truck overheating? (like stop and go traffic, highway driving, driving up a long hill, temperature outside etc.)

Was the thermostat installed correctly so it is not put in backwards?

Is the fan, fan clutch and fan shroud in place, and in good condition? How about the radiator cap?


Assuming that the parts you replaced were quality and not faulty you could have a bad fan clutch, or a clog in the engine somewhere.

The more information you give us, the better we can help you.

 

Get all the air out after replacing all these parts??

Just how did the original problem start??

 

It started a couple weeks and go and will heat up in any traffic and when it temp gauge gets about half way up it quits blowing heat blows cold air it won't go back down until you stop and sit for about 20 minutes but it don't start overheating til you drive about 30 miles or more

 

Yes had a mechanic do the work for me cause k was to busy at work to have time to do it. Well about 3 weeks ago I was coming to work one day got about half way to work and it just quit blowing heat teml gauge was still near the cold mark then the closer I got to work the further up the temp gauge would go and every time you drive til it overheats I have to add about a quart of water so that's when I replaced the parts with new ones cause the water pump was wining and I have no clue still.overheating after all them parts have been replaced and no water in the oil
