You don't want a 4Runner with a 3" BL and 31" tires.

You can basically fit 31's on a stock 4Runner, and up to 33's with minimal work and still no BL.

Also... check this thread for tons of really nice 1st Gen 4runners:

Well.. probably not very quickly.

You'd probably be okay. 5spd or auto? You would probably have to consider regearing the diffs with 33's... and definitely if you went bigger.

But you need to do quite a bit to a 4Runner to go bigger than 33's and that is really not all that recommended for IFS anyway.

Now look what I have done.... you asked about 31's and I am already up to 35's. I am sick I tell you.... very sick....

Not really sure what you are trying to figure out.

The bigger the tires... the slower you are going to go.

If you mod the motor for more HP... the faster you are going to go.

Bigger than 31's should probably be regeared.

Bigger than 35's should definitely be regeared.

Your V4 will turn 33's in a circle relative to the plain of your axles and progress the vehicle in the direction your transmission dictates until you get a flat or run out of gas... for then you will have to stop.

spend a little time searching and perusing this board, you'll find more insight, experience and pictures on this than you can absorb.

31s will fit stock with no body or suspension lift...and will still be a bit sluggish.

Anything larger in tire size and you will need some lift and you need to regear or you will be driving a slug and not a V4.

KALEB - I stand corrected - lol

For the original question - here is a pic of my 95 with no lift and 31x10.5's - This about how goofy it would look with 3 more inches of lift on it

NOTE - my runner looks a little bit bigger now since I took the running boards off of it.

Personally, I'd regear if going over 31's. You truck will be slow, use more fuel, and wear things like your clutch out faster. Also, it will be less fun to drive unless you like to acceleration slowly.

don't blame me, I bought it this way. This is 3" bl with 31's soon to be 32's since I can't afford to regear yet and hitech retread doesn't warranty 33's
