Passenger side seat slider

I just got an 86 4Runner thats in need of a lot of work, one problem i have is the passenger side seat slider doesn`t work, the cables that make the slider work are broken or missing all together. I have a regular seat slider laying around that i could swap in if it would work, is this possible ?, no one rides in the back, so access to the rear seats is not a concern, i just want to be able to adjust the seat if needed.

I have an 87 that's missing the slider lever altogether. From what I understand, you can find the cable assembly on Ebay.

I replaced mine with a metal coat hanger. I had to cut the coat hanger a bit, but it works just great.
